Why is the price at checkout different to the pricing page?

Almost always tax. The plan price itself does not change between the pricing page and checkout — but what gets added to it depends on where you are.

If you are in Australia, the UK or the US

Our pricing page shows local pricing in AUD, GBP and USD. If you saw the AUD rate on the pricing page, checkout will show that same AUD rate, with GST added.

So the difference you are seeing should be the tax line and nothing else. The plan price should match.

If the base rate itself is different — not just the total — that is not expected. Do not pay it. Message us through the chat on this page with what the pricing page showed and what checkout showed, and we will look into it, because that would be something wrong on our side rather than something normal.

If you are somewhere else

For countries we do not publish local pricing for, the plan is priced in US dollars and checkout converts it to your local currency at the current rate. Any sales tax or VAT required where you are is added on top.

Two things move the number here, which is why it can look further off than you expected: the conversion and the tax. The plan is the same plan.

Where to see exactly what you will pay

The checkout total is the amount you will be charged, itemised, before you enter any payment details. If you want the real figure including tax, start the checkout and read the breakdown — you can close the page without paying.

Past charges and receipts are in your billing history with the same breakdown.

Why we cannot simply leave the tax off

Where tax applies, our payments provider is obliged to collect it and pass it on. It is not a Cloutly fee and we do not keep any of it — which is also why two people on the same plan in different countries can see different totals.
